Bayport Group at the gala presentation of the commemorative events marking the centenary of the Juan Sebastián de Elcano Training Ship
An event celebrating the history of the Spanish Navy and its trusted partners
On September 29, the gala presentation of the commemorative events marking the centenary of the Spanish Navy’s Training Ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano took place.
The event was held at Madrid’s Teatro Real and was hosted by Admiral Antonio Piñeiro Sánchez, Chief of Staff of the Spanish Navy (AJEMA), with the presence of the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles Fernández.
Among the distinguished guests were our CEO, Rafael Fernández Bernal, and Euronaval’s Director, Juan José Galindo Miralles, in recognition of the excellent collaboration and steadfast commitment that Bayport, and now our specialised company Euronaval, have consistently provided to the Spanish Navy.
During the event, the history of the Elcano and its crew was reviewed, and the key milestones planned for the ship’s centenary celebrations in 2027 were announced.
The event also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships, logistics that provide certainty and security, and having reliable partners who help vessels reach wherever they are needed.
We are deeply honoured by the invitation extended to our CEO in recognition of our dedicated work, and we look forward to seeing the Elcano sail the seas for at least another hundred years.
